Every boat is a trade.
We measure it.

Two products. One engine. Physics-backed competitive intelligence for sailors, naval architects, and sailmakers who race for seconds a mile — and for the organizers and media who carry the results.

Built in Annapolis by a sailor who needed it — this started on a boat, not in a lab. Read the story

850,000+physics evaluations per certificate
9,591ORC boats scored · 11,207 analyzed within a 12,965-boat governed corpus · July 2026
11performance archetypes
52performance dimensions

A performance archetype is a measured boat type. Each of the eleven answers three questions: how the boat creates speed, where that speed pays off, and what it demands from the crew to collect it.

Who we work with

Who SailrScience is for

For naval architects

Put the measured fleet beside the design office. Position a design among its true rated peers, compare it with competitors whose hull files will never be available, and watch it after launch against condition-matched race evidence — while an approved platform calibration carries to every boat and loft built on the design.

See services

For sail lofts

Give your customers sail recommendations they can trust — under your loft’s name. We provide the engine; you keep the relationship.

See services

For racing teams

Hands-on support for serious campaigns: a diagnostics retainer, pre-event briefings, and crew analysis whenever you need it.

See services

For media & event organizers

Physics-grounded analysis for the people who run regattas and the people who cover them — entry context, weather-conditioned results, and stories that hold up to scrutiny.

FleetEdge™ by SailrScience

See what the whole fleet is doing — and what your crew controls. 9,591 ORC boats scored (11,207 analyzed within a 12,965-boat governed corpus, July 2026), 11 archetypes, and 52 dimensions of analytics that characterize every boat on the same governed basis — plus racing insights published from the weather-enriched race archive. One platform, opening in stages to the audiences it serves: event organizers, national federations, media, race teams, and designers.

The IP behind the products

Performance archetypes — the model behind the products

Sailors have always sorted boats into types — the heavy-air boat, the downwind flyer, the one that pays you back for perfect trim. The MPAE archetype model is that sorting, done with physics: from every ORC certificate it measures how the boat creates speed, where that speed pays across the wind range, and how demanding it is to sail to its ceiling. Eleven types across the analyzed fleet. White paper authored in the research arm.

Provisional patents

Two provisional applications filed with the USPTO. The first, docket 0325-0001PR (filed 2026-03-05), covers the SailEdge claim scope. The second, docket 0325-0002PR (application 64/093,531, filed 2026-06-18), covers the FleetEdge claim scope — weather-conditioned fleet analytics and performance decomposition. IP custody sits with the research arm.
